Very easy to play with a warm and round sound. Ideal for combo and big band.
This is a very impressive metal mouthpiece. It has a nice compact and centred tone with a pleasant edge. It glides up to the altissimo very easily. It also has a good subtone and the response when tonguing feels very immediate.
Fred Lebayle (born March 28 1960) worked as a metal tool worker in his father's company in France. As an enthusiastic saxophone player, he started designing mouthpieces for himself, trying to emulate Charlie Parker's sound. In 1987 he set up his own mouthpiece business as a one-man venture. Today his work is known and appreciated worldwide by some of the finest musicians such as Chris Potter, Wayne Shorter, Branford Marsalis, Ron Blake, David Liebman, Ravi Coltrane, Marcus Strickland, Najee, Greg Osby, Jan Gabarek, Candy Dulfer and many other professionals whom sound is shaped by Lebayle's work.
All mouthpieces are truly handmade, making each one a singular and authentic mouthpiece with its own personality. Lebayle uses only the finest material, be it hard rubber, wood or metal.
It is also possible to playtest a mouthpiece or instrument during these 15 days. The next rules apply in this case if you return items to us:
