Underlying the essence of the French Cut is a completely redesigned profile that has been carefully crafted to take the classical and orchestral playing experience to the next level. Unlike European and American Cut reeds, which concentrate material in the center of the reed to emphasize a bright, broad harmonic spectrum, the French Cut features a more even distribution of material across the blade to suppress high overtones while simultaneously increase body and depth. The French Cut has a thinner tip and provides the perfect balance: the responsiveness musicians need, combined with just the right resistance. The result? A reed that authentically references tradition, bringing out a nuanced depth and warmth, tailor-made for the largest stages and the most demanding classical musicians.
